No prior experience is required for most of our courses. United Training Centre trains both complete beginners and experienced operators who want to formalise their skills with an accredited certificate. For machine operator courses such as Forklift, TLB and Excavator — no experience is needed and training starts from the basics. For artisan courses such as Welding and Boilermaking — we welcome beginners and those with existing trade experience. For advanced courses such as Competent B and Competent A mining exam preparation — you must hold the required prior qualifications (Blasting Certificate for Competent B, Competent B for Competent A). The minimum age for all courses is 18 years.
To register for any course at United Training Centre you need the following: a copy of your South African ID document or Smart ID card (or a valid passport for foreign nationals), two recent passport-sized photographs, proof of your minimum age of 18 years, and a basic understanding of English (required for theory components). Some advanced courses have additional requirements — for example, Competent B preparation requires your valid Blasting Certificate, and Trade Test Preparation requires proof of relevant trade experience or apprenticeship completion. Contact us on +27 81 795 8133 to confirm the specific requirements for your chosen course before enrolling.
Yes. United Training Centre provides FREE accommodation for all students who travel from outside the training centre area — at all five of our branches in Nelspruit, Germiston, Witbank, Polokwane and Rustenburg. Accommodation is safe, comfortable and located close to the training facility. This service is included in your course fee — there is no additional accommodation charge. When you enroll, simply notify us that you need accommodation and we will arrange it for the full duration of your course. This service is available to students from all provinces across South Africa.
Yes. United Training Centre provides active job placement support to all graduates at no additional cost. Our job placement assistance includes CV preparation guidance, interview readiness support and direct referrals to employers who are actively recruiting in your specific trade and region. We have established relationships with construction companies, mining houses, logistics operators and manufacturing plants who recruit directly from our graduate pool. Most of our graduates find employment within 2 to 6 weeks of completing their course and receiving their certificate. We are invested in your success beyond the classroom — getting you certified is only half the job.
Yes. Many students at United Training Centre enroll in combined courses to maximise their employment opportunities and salary potential. Popular combinations include Forklift and TLB, Forklift and Reach Truck, TLB and Excavator, and Code 8 followed by Code 10 Driving. Students who complete multiple courses increase their value to employers significantly — a worker who can operate a forklift, a TLB and drive a Code 10 truck is far more employable than one with a single skill. Contact us on +27 81 795 8133 to discuss the best course combination for your career goals and to get a combined course quote.

United Training Centre achieves a 98% first-time pass rate across all courses and all five branches — significantly above the national average for operator training in South Africa. This pass rate is the result of three deliberate choices we make: smaller class sizes so every student gets more one-on-one time with instructors, more hands-on machine time per student than most other training providers, and a policy of not taking any student to formal assessment until they demonstrate genuine competency during training. We do not move a student through to pass just to keep class turnover high. Our 98% pass rate is our reputation — and we protect it.
Yes. United Training Centre works with companies of all sizes — from small contractors to large mining houses — to provide group training and certificate renewal for teams of employees. We offer priority scheduling for corporate groups, competitive group pricing for 5 or more employees, and can arrange on-site training at your workplace for large teams. We also provide a compliance certificate audit service — identifying which of your employees have expired certificates and scheduling renewals before your next site inspection or DOL audit. Contact us on +27 81 795 8133 or email machinery.training247@gmail.com to request a corporate training quote.
Yes. United Training Centre offers fast, accredited certificate renewal for all expired operator and safety certificates. Certificates we renew include: Forklift Operator (required every 3 years under the Driven Machinery Regulations), First Aid Level 1, 2 and 3 (every 3 years), Fire Fighting (every 3 years), Working at Heights and Fall Arrest (every 3 years), TLB, Excavator, Crane and all earth moving operator certificates (every 3 years), and coded welder certificates (every 6 months to 2 years). Operating machinery or performing safety duties with an expired certificate violates the OHS Act and can result in site removal, dismissal and invalidated insurance. Renewal typically takes 1 to 5 days. Call +27 81 795 8133 to book your renewal immediately.
United Training Centre was founded in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga in 2009 — making us one of the longest-established accredited training providers in the region. In 17 years of continuous operation we have certified more than 15,000 students across South Africa. We have grown from a single campus in Nelspruit to five fully equipped branches across Mpumalanga, Gauteng, North West and Limpopo. Our course offering has expanded from a handful of machine operator programmes to over 50 accredited courses covering earth moving, lifting and cranes, artisan trades, safety and health, professional driving and engineering qualifications. Every one of those 15,000 certificates represents a South African worker whose employment prospects and earning potential were permanently improved.
